With the dawn of social networking, everyone seems to want social integration in everything they do online. Hence Facebook Connect, and other broad-based facilities.

This concept brought about the idea to create a social-driven skinning network, called "The Skinning Collaborative". Some skinning sites seem to be loosing their touch, mostly because their social backgrounds are limited, or may not even exist.

This is quite a large project that has just begun, so I can only outline a few features that will be present:

1. Today Stream - A public view of all incoming skins, shown in chronological order.

2. Time Stream - A public view of all an author's activity and creations, shown in either "Flat View" or "Pin View", which lays out the items similar to the way Pinterest does.

3. Followers & Friends - The Skinning Collaborative will allow authors to follow each other, and, if they know each other, become friends.

This is just the tip of the iceberg - there are many more features in the queue, most with regard to tight social integration.
